                   	     ORDINANCE NO.  10510 
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, SECTION 24-341(c) AND SECTION
                   24-341(d), RELATIVE TO DISCARDED AND ABANDONED
                   VEHICLES.

              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That:
        
              	   Section 1.  Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Section
         24-341(c) and Section 24-341(d), be and the same is hereby 
amended
         so as to delete said subsections in their entirety and insert 
in
         lieu thereof the following:
               
                "(c) Discarded vehicle shall mean any vehicle or
                part thereof which:  (i) is inoperative and which
                does not have lawfully affixed thereto an unexpired
                license plate or plates and which is wrecked,
                dismantled, partially dismantled or discarded; or
                (ii) remains inoperable and without unexpired
                license plate or plates affixed thereto for a
                continuous period of more than ten (10) days.
               
                (d)  Abandoned vehicle shall mean any vehicle or
                part thereof which is left unattended on public or
                private property for more than ten (10) days, or a
                vehicle that has remained illegally on public
                property for a period of more than forty-eight (48)
                hours, or a vehicle that has remained on private
                property without the consent of the owner or person
                in control of the property for more than
                forty-eight (48) hours."
               
        
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         provided by law.
